Baby Steps

Savannah is really starting to move around now. She has mastered a pretty fast crawl, has now mastered climbing the stairs (still working on going back down) and she is now starting to walk with the help of a baby stroller that a friend gave us as a gift. She is still wobbly but I am sure she will master that as quickly as everything else she has learned to do!

Well Check

Today was Savannah's nine month well check. The best part... no shots!!! The good news is we finally made it to our 10th percentile weight goal, weighing in at 16.5 pounds. I forgot how tall she measured but it put her in the 50th percentile. She is doing very well and we even gave her first solid food meal tonight. She was offered rice, banana and some steamed zucchini. She loved it and I loved the fact it made half the mess that the purees make.

Look! I can stick my tongue out now!

Spending time playing with her doggy and his toys.

Freedom!

It has been almost a week since Savannah's restraints were taken off. Everything has been going well and we have even started to give her some pureed veggies this week. She seems happy to finally eating some real food. Although I am quite surprised at the places I can find baby food hours after we have fed her! I am hoping in the next few weeks we can start giving her solids again like puffs and cooked rice. They were her favorites before surgery.

In other news... It seems like she has a caught a cold in the last 24 hours. She is very snotty, slightly feverish and a little grumpy. It was a long night for all of us because Sav just couldn't get comfortable and was up crying every thirty minutes. I am hoping the cold leaves as quickly as it appeared!

Independence Day

Yesterday, Savannah celebrated her independence by taking off the arm restraints! She is making up for lost time and trying to shove anything and everything into her mouth. It is making me so nervous! I am allowing some soft things (like wash clothes) but trying to keep everything else out. I am also excited at the same time and ready to start using the high chair to start feeding her some solids!
