Yesterday was Savannah's pediatric eye exam and she was so well behaved for the doctor. The final diagnosis after nearly two hours in his office? Her eyesight is perfectly normal for a baby her age!!! Another week and another huge relief. That was our last scheduled doctor's appointment for quite awhile which will be nice for Savannah. She seems to be tired of all the poking and prodding every week!
I tried to complete Savannah's four month old photo shoot but she just wasn't in the mood this weekend. Not to mention I couldn't take any pics with her eyes fully dilated yesterday. So her is a few of the better ones...

So Happy!
Savannah is four months old today and she is doing well! Today at her well check she weighed 11lbs 4oz. That puts her into the 8th percentile. We are almost up to our 10th percentile goal! I wanted to jump for joy when I heard that. After all these months stressing out over her eating habits and weight gain, we are finally starting to make some progress!
We took Savannah to the Zoo today which of course she slept through! I don't blame her though it was a traumatic day getting vaccinated. Savannah also slept through Sea World two weeks ago. At least it is nice for mom and dad to go for a walk outside of the house. (Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for the year passes!!)
Next week Savannah has an ophthalmologist appointment to get her eyes fully examined and I also am planning to do a Valentine photo shoot for her 4 month old pics.

The Inevitable
The time has come. I knew it was coming but it doesn't make it any easier. I must go back to work. In less than 24 hours from now I will have just finished my first shift back. I have been having small panic attacks the last two days just thinking about it. At least Savannah will not have to go to daycare since both sets of grandparents have graciously offered to watch Savannah while we are at work. I am also thankful that this work week is only one day so we can have a test run before going back full time!

Laughing Girl
Daddy found a way to make Savannah giggle. Apparently she likes to be jiggled. Brian found this out after Savannah would not stop screaming one night so he held her up and jiggled her a little bit and her frown went away and she started laughing! It was too cute.

Geneticist Appointment
Yesterday was Savannah's geneticist appointment and I am glad I slept on all the information that was given to us before blogging. The doctor gave us a possible diagnosis of Stickler syndrome. While heartbreaking to hear at first, after doing some research I realize that it is definitely not the worst diagnosis that could be given. The doctor is basing the diagnosis at this point on Savannah having Pierre Robin sequence along with facial features (widely spaced eyes) that make her look like a Stickler baby. Our next step is to have Savannah's eyes examined by an opthamologist. Stickler syndrome can affect eyes at a very early age and the exam will be key to help confirm Savannah's diagnosis. So right now we have to wait for the referral to be approved before we can make an appointment and I hope we get the appointment quickly after that.
What does Stickler syndrome affect? Vision, hearing and joints. It affects each person differently and can vary greatly in severity. Some people show little to no symptoms all the way to possible blindness and hearing loss. I like looking at the bright side of things and the good news is that mental retardation is NOT a part of Stickler syndrome. Savannah has been meeting all of her milestones on time including recognizing us (big happy smiles!), tracking us, and reaching for her toys. I am hoping this means that her eyes are not affected or very minimally affected but we will only know for sure after her eyes are examined.

Savannah's kickin' coaster. As she kicks the front panel the seat slides back and forth while the front panel flashes lights and plays music. She loves it!

She did it!
Savannah rolled over twice tonight!! She went from belly to back. That is all I had to say. Good night until next time! :)

3 months old today
Savannah is three months old today! The sad news is I go back to work in two very very short weeks. At least all of Savannah's grandparents will be watching her while Brian and I are at work!
This week we have an appointment with Savannah's geneticist. She will most likely take a look at Savannah and go over the blood tests results that were taken in the NICU right after Savannah was born. Savannah's New Year's resolution is exactly opposite of most everyone else...she wants to chunk up!
