Here is a much better photo of her mouth. I had lots of light and she has just started to cry giving me a good pic. As you can see she has a complete gum line but the roof of her mouth is completely missing.
We got the DVD and it does help calm her down but we are still working on her sleeping anywhere but on our chests. Once we can get her to sleep in her crib, swing, or even car seat we will all be happy (somewhat rested) campers.
Glad it helped. Ahh chest sleeping. Bryn won't do that any more...I miss it! Does Savannah like to be swaddled? That helped B in the beginning. She loves you and dad too much to be put down :)
Sometimes she likes the swaddling and sometimes she fights to get her arms out of it. I think it all depends if she is overtired or not. Things are getting better though! :-)
Savannah was born October 2010 after a very normal and uneventful pregnancy. Within 24 hours of birth she was diagnosed with a cleft palate, tongue tie and an abnormally small chin. The trio of these birth defects is known as Pierre Robin Sequence. This blog is to show her progress with PRS and to share our surgical and medical experiences.
If your child has PRS I would love to hear from you! Feel free to post your blog (if you have one) address in the comments section so I can follow along with your experiences too!
Did you know?
PRS occurs in approximately 1 out of 7500-8000 births. Cleft palate and/or cleft lip occurs in approximately 1 out of 700 births.
Surgeries
Savannah's palate reconstruction surgery was completed on May 24th 2011.
Ear tubes replaced October 25th 2012.
Eye exam under general anesthesia November 8th, 2012.
Interesting peak inside! Have you tried Happiest baby yet? Curious on your sleeping journey ;)
