Our summer has been great so far! We have spent lots of time swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's pool, wading at the beach, and just trying to stay cool. We are trying to relax while we can because with Savannah's birthday comes the yearly doctor appointment avalanche! (eyes, well check, hearing, genetics, speech, you get the idea!)
Last month we visited her ENT (ear, nose and throat), where he removed one of her tubes that was already coming out and causing an infection. The other tube is blocked but not causing any problems so he left it alone. Unfortunately the appointment was quite traumatizing for Savannah. By the end she was a sobbing mess. Her doctor then reached into his pocket and pulled out $2 for her to get an ice cream with! Now that is some "bedside" service!
This week we went in for a development evaluation since we believe she is speech delayed. The evaluation went well and she scored above average in every category except speech. So next month we have an appointment to meet with a therapist for a specific speech evaluation. During the evaluation the evaluator would pull out puzzles and projects from her suitcase for Savannah to work on. When she was all done Savannah still wanted more toys. She signed "more" and when the evaluator said there was no more, Savannah decided to rifle through her bag just to be sure! It was really cute.

When you ask her to smile, this is what she does now. |

Wild child hair! Since she won't let me put it in a pony tail, hat or a head band I am considering getting her a haircut. | |
