Savannah has been officially diagnosed with pneumonia. When her fever and cough wouldn't go away I booked her for an appointment. On the night of her appointment she had a blood oxygen rate of 94% (low) and still had a low fever even with Motrin. At the office they gave her a breathing treatment and took an x-ray. The x-ray confirmed that she does have pneumonia in both lungs. So she now has oral antibiotics, an inhaler and some antibiotic drops for her ear which is also weeping fluid.
Only 24 hours later and she is feeling much better and back to her usual crazy monkey antics! Her fever has finally come back down to normal also. Unfortunately the inhaler (which has a little mask to go over her nose and mouth) has triggered an emotional reaction like I have never seen before in her. She screams when she sees it and starts to cover her face. I think it is baby PTSD from all her surgeries and procedures. It does look a lot like an anesthesia mask. Poor thing. I can't wait until this bump in the road has past us!!
